Answer given by the minister

MINISTER OF STATE (IC) FOR LABOUR AND EMPLOYMENT
(SHRI BANDARU DATTATREYA)

(a) & (e): The Tie-up Hospital should preferably be accredited by National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers (NABH). However, the hospitals which are not accredited by NABH can be empanelled provisionally, till they get NABH accreditation within a period of six months but not later than one year from the date of their empanelment.
In certain areas where there are no NABH accredited hospitals, Non-NABH hospitals are empanelled after following due procedure and inspection.
(b): Total numbers of hospitals empanelled as on date are 1192. State/UT wise list of such hospitals is at Annexure.

(c) & (d): No Madam. There are sufficient number of empanelled hospitals in the country to provide services to ESI beneficiaries. State/UT wise details of NABH accredited hospitals is at Annexure.
