Question : AYUSH Hospital

Will the Minister of AYURVEDA, YOGA AND NATUROPATHY, UNANI, SIDDHA AND HOMOEOPATHY (AYUSH) be pleased to state:

(a) whether the AYUSH ministry is going ahead with the proposal of establishing 100 AYUSH hospitals in the country, if so, the details thereof;

(b) whether any AYUSH hospitals are proposed for Karnataka under the project, if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether the Centre is in receipt of request to increase PG seats and starting new PG courses in Ayurveda in Karnataka; and

(d) if so, the details and status of the request?

ANSWER

(a) & (b): As public health is a State subject, establishment of AYUSH hospitals in the country comes under the purview of respective State/UT Governments. However, under Centrally Sponsored Scheme of National AYUSH Mission (NAM), there is a provision of financial assistance for setting up of upto 50-bedded integrated AYUSH Hospital. Under NAM, grant-in-aid is being provided to State/UT Governments as per proposals received through State Annual Action Plans (SAAPs).
Further, under NAM, the details of setting up of upto 50 bedded integrated AYUSH hospitals approved by Central Government State/UT-wise including Karnataka since inception of NAM is furnished at Annexure.
(c) & (d): Ministry of AYUSH has received one proposal for starting new PG courses in Ayurveda in three subjects from Karnataka. The proposal has been examined and sent to Central Council of Indian Medicine (CCIM).
