(a) During the last three years one loan of US $ 516 million was received from World Bank for the National Highway Sector during the year 2000-2001 for projects in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand..
(b)&(c) A statement giving expenditure on various NH projects State-wise is enclosed.
(d) During the Ninth Five Year Plan financial assistance from the World Bank has been received for two projects for State Highway sector, namely Andhra Pradesh State Highway Project ($ 350 million) and Gujarat State Highway Project ($ 381 million). There is a proposal for World Bank assistance for the states of Karnataka, Kerala and Mizoram, but no fund is committed by the Bank.
