Question : Free Treatment by Private Doctors

Will the Minister of HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE be pleased to state:
(a) whether private doctors are providing free treatment once in a month to pregnant women in their clinics and nursing homes under Pradhan Mantri Matritava Suraksha Abhiyan;
(b) if so, the details thereof, State/UT-wise including Raigarh Jashpur in Chhattisgarh;
(c) the number of women benefitted so far in the country under said scheme, State/UT-wise including Chhattisgarh; and
(d) the steps taken by the Government to encourage such private doctors who are actively promoting such pre-natal care activities?

(a): Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan (PMSMA) program aims to provide fixed day assured , comprehensive and quality antenatal care universally to all pregnant women free of cost on 9th of every month.
There is no provision for private doctors for providing free treatment to pregnant women in their clinics and nursing homes.

(b): In view of above, does not arise.

(c): State/UT wise details including Chhattisgarh of total number of pregnant women who received antenatal care under Pradhan Mantri Surakshit Matritva Abhiyan program so far in the country placed at "Annexure".

(d): Following steps have been taken to encourage private doctors to actively participate in providing pre-natal care activities under PMSMA;
• Appeal to Private Medical Practitioners; Appeal to private sector doctors to volunteer and join hands for PMSMA by Hon''ble Prime Minister on the occasion of "MANN KI BAAT" episode on 31st July''2019.
• PMSMA ‘IPledgeFor9’ Achievers Awards: PMSMA ‘IPledgeFor9’ Achievers Awards have been devised to celebrate individual and team achievements and acknowledge voluntary contributions by private doctors for PMSMA.
• Centralised PMSMA Portal: Centralised PMSMA Portal has been created for registering private practitioners.
• Commitment from FOGSI & IMA: MoHFW in collaboration with Indian Medical Association and otherspromote PMSMA through platforms like Loksabha TV, video conferences with member doctors etc.
