(a) whether a high-level Committee constituted for formulating new foodgrain policy was expected to submit its report to the Union Government by the end of September, 2001;
(b) if so, whether the Committee has submitted its report;
(c) if so, the details thereof and the steps taken to implement its recommendation; and
(d) if not, the reasons for the delay and the time by which the report is likely
to be submitted?

(c) Does not arise in view of the reply to part (b) above.
(d) Since the Committee was to consult State Governments in order to get their views
on various issues involved in framing the Foodgrain Policy, the Committee could not finalise
its report. The Committee is expected to submit its final report in March, 2002.
