Question : CROP PRODUCTION



(a) whether the Union Government propose to formulate any scheme to increase crop production in the country;

(b) if so, the details of the above scheme;

(c) the funds likely to be allocated to implement the said scheme during the Tenth Five Year Plan; and

(d) the names of the States where this fund is likely to be spent?

(a)&(b): Yes, Sir. During Tenth Five Year Plan 48 (Forty eight) Centrally Sponsored/Central Sector Schemes are proposed to be implemented for increasing crop production in the country.

(c)&(d): A sum of Rs.13,200 Crore have been allocated by the Planning Commission for implementation of these schemes. Funds will be released to all states under various Centrally Sponsored and Central Sector Schemes depending upon the proposals of State Governments and scope of the schemes.
