(a) whether there is a proposal to operate sky buses as mode of public transport in Mumbai on highly crowded routes;

(b) if so, furnish details thereof alongwith the scheme technical soundness, cost effectiveness and total cost of the project, financing pattern etc; and

(c) the present status of proposal along with the time frame for executing?

(a) The Konkan Railway Corporation has only suggested that the Sky Bus Metro System could be one of the possible solutions to the urban transport problems faced by some major cities. The State Governments of Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka & Tamil Nadu have evinced interest in this proposal and are in dialogue with Konkan Railway Corporation.

(b)&(c): The proposal is still at a conceptual stage.
