(a) & (b) A Portuguese silver coin of the mid-19th century period was reported missing from the Archaeological Survey of India`s museum at Goa on 16th April 1989.
(c) The local police who investigated the matter were unable to pinpoint the involvement of specific person/persons.
(d) Adequate measures such as display in reinforced glass show cases, deployment of private security and entry of visitors through metal detector door frames have been adopted.
