(a) & (b): The Ministry of Food Processing Industries is
implementing Plan Scheme for providing financial assistance
for development of food processing industries including meat
& poultry processing and modernization of slaughter houses.
There is no separate allocation of funds for subsidizing
slaughter houses either in the 9th Plan or 10th Plan. The
plan scheme for setting up/modernisation/technology
upgradation of units under which financial assistance at 25%
of the cost of capital equipments and technical civil works
upto Rs. 50 lakhs in general areas and 33.33% upto Rs. 75
lakhs in difficult areas is given by way of grant, which is
available for setting up of Poultry & Meat processing units
also.
