Question : Integrated Check Post at Hily Border

(a) whether the Government proposes to construct an Integrated Check Post at Hilly Border in Dakshin Dinajpur District in West Bengal;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether any deadline has been proposed for completion of this project; and

(d) if so, the details of goods transported through Hilly border during the last five Years?

(a) to (c) : The Government has given “in-principle” approval for land acquisition and preparation of Detailed Engineering Report (DER) for development of Integrated Check Posts (ICPs) at 7 locations in the State of West Bengal including Hili in Dakshin Dinajpur district in West Bengal.
Construction/development of ICP depends upon acquisition of land parcels by Land Port Authority of India at identified location for which active co-operation from the State Government authorities is required. This Ministry had made several requests to State Government of West Bengal for early acquisition of land parcel at identified locations. State Government is yet to respond on the requests made in this regard.
