Question : THREAT OF TERROR ATTACKS



(a) whether intelligence reports of terrorists sneaking into various cities to target vital installations including nuclear establishments, hotels, tourist and religious places and important personalities like scientists in the country have been received;

(b) if so, the details thereof and the reaction of the Government thereto;

(c) whether the Government has issued any instructions to various State Governments in this regard; and

(d) if so, the details thereof and the reaction of the State Governments in this regard?

(a) to (d): Yes, Madam. In view of the prevailing security scenario in the country, the nuclear establishments, hotels tourist and religious places and important personalities like scientists in the country continue to remain prime target of the terrorist groups and outfits. The concerned State Governments are sensitized in this regard from time to time to take adequate preventive/precautionary security measures. Inputs received from Central Security Agencies in this regard are passed on to concerned State Governments for effective coordinative action by State Police authorities with CISF and Departmental security personnel deployed in Atomic Energy Establishments for enhancing security measures.
