Question : Opening of New CGHS Dispensaries

Will the Minister of HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE be pleased to state:
(a) the parameters/criteria fixed under the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS) for opening dispensaries in the country;
(b) the places where such dispensaries are being operated under CGHS in the country at present State/ UT-wise;
(c) the details of the beneficiaries recorded and treated under the said scheme in Rajasthan during the last five years, district-wise;
(d) whether the Government proposes to open new dispensaries in the districts where there are more than 1000 beneficiaries under the CGHS including at Jhansi (U.P); and
(e) if so, the time by which these are likely to be opened?

(a): The norms for opening a new Wellness Centre under CGHS are as under:-
i. In an existing CGHS City:-
For opening a new CGHS Wellness Centre in an existing CGHS City, there has to be a minimum of 2000 Card holders (serving employees of Central Government and Central Civil Pensioners).
ii. Extension of CGHS to a new City:-
For extension of CGHS to a new City, there has to be a minimum of 6000 Card holders.
Opening of new CGHS Wellness Centre(s) is considered as per extant norms & subject to availability of resources.

(b): A statement showing CGHS Wellness Centres in the country is at Annexure-I.





(c): A statement showing details of the beneficiaries registered and treated under the said scheme in CGHS covered cities of Rajasthan viz. Ajmer, Jodhpur, Jaipur and Kota during the last five years, is at Annexure-II.

(d) & (e): There is no proposal under consideration to open new CGHS Wellness Centres in the districts where there are more than 1000 beneficiaries under the CGHS including at Jhansi (U.P).
