EWS RESERVATION
5467. SHRI RAMDAS C. TADAS:
Will the Minister of SOCIAL JUSTICE AND EMPOWERMENT be pleased to state:
(a) the number of persons who have availed the benefit of Economically Weaker Section (EWS) reservation for an appointment in Government services till date;
(b) the number of funds/additional funds provided to the ministries for the implementation of the EWS reservation; and
(c) the details and the number of EWS Certificate issued by the Government till date, State-wise?

(a): As per DoPT intimated the number of persons who have availed the benefit of EWS reservation is-
As on 1.1.2020 – 85
As on 1.1.2021 - 132
(b): An additional amount of Rs. 4315.15 Cr. was provided to various Ministries for the implementation of the EWS reservation during the last two years.
(c): The State Governments issue EWS certificates to all EWS candidates who apply for the certificate and who fulfill the criteria of EWS reservation.
