Question : NUCLEAR AIR COMMAND



(a) whether the Government propose to establish a Nuclear Air Command for the Indian Air Force in view of the threat perception from the potential enemy;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) if not, the reasons therefor; and

(d) the details of countries in the world which are having nuclear air commands?

(a) to (c): It would not be desirable to disclose these details in the interest of the National security.

(d) It is understood that the United States Air Force has a Strategic Air Command. France, China and Russia are also understood to have Strategic Forces, placed under a single command.
