Question : Land to NGOs

Will the Minister of Urban Development be pleased to state:

(a) Whether the Government allots land at subsidized rates to the Non-Government Organisations (NGOs);

(b) If so, the details thereof; and

(c) The criteria set in this regard.

THE MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF URBAN DEVELOPMENT

(SHRI BABUL SUPRIYO)

(a) : In view of scarcity of land with L&DO, no allotment of land to NGOs is being done by the L&DO. DDA allots land to NGOs meeting the laid down the criteria on no profit no loss rate.

(b) : Rate being charged by DDA for current year is Rs.475.32 Lakh per acre (Provisional).

(c) : Charitable Institutions which are registered under Societies Registration Act-XXI of 1860, serving lower strata Society and running partially on grant received from Govt., are considered by DDA for allotment of land on meeting the requirements under Rules-3, 4, 5 and 20 of the DDA (Disposal of Developed Nazul Land) Rules-1981.
