MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF ENVIRONMENT OF FORESTS (SHRI NAMO NARAIN MEENA)
(a) to (c) The Ministry is implementing a scheme of National Lake Conservation Plan (NLCP) for conservation and management of polluted and degraded lakes. The Plan includes core components of interception and treatment of wastewaters before their entry in to the lake. In addition to this, activities such as catchment improvement, shoreline protection, in-lake treatments (aeration, de-weeding, de-siltation, bio-remediation and bio-manipulation) and lake front eco-development including public participation are taken up under NLCP. De-silting is taken up as a measure under the overall plan for ecological restoration of lakes and linked with the scope of pollution abatement schemes.
