(a) As per the requirement of Bihar State for sericulture activities and based on the proposals received by Central Silk Board, the year-wise financial assistance given under Catalytic Development Programme (C.D.P.) to the Government of Bihar including Bhagalpur through the Director of Sericulture, during last three years 2012-13 to 2014-15 is as under:-

From 2015-16, a Centrally Sponsored Scheme i.e. Catalytic Development Programme (C.D.P.) has been converted into a Central Sector Scheme.
(b): One basic Seed Multiplication and Training Centre (BSM&TC) of Central Silk Board is functioning at Bhagalpur in Bihar for supply of basic tasar silkworm seed to State for further multiplication.
One Weavers Service Centre (WSC) is functioning at Kanchangarh Berari, Bhagalpur under the Office of the Development Commissioner for Handlooms, Ministry of Textiles who cater technical assistance to the handloom industry of the state of Bihar for its development. The Weavers Service Centre (WSC) also provide short time and observatory training to the Weavers concerned of Bhagalpur and surrounding area to upgrade their technical skills.
(c): The Government of India has been implementing “Handloom Weavers Comprehensive Welfare Scheme (HWCWS)” with the components of (i) Health Insurance Scheme (HIS) implemented upto 30.09.2014 by Office of the Development Commissioner (Handlooms); and (ii) Mahatma Gandhi Bunkar Bima Yojana (MGBBY). The handloom weavers benefitted/enrolled during the last three years are given at Annexure–A. The Health Insurance Scheme is now implemented by Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Rastriya Swasthya Bima Yojana (RSBY) pattern.
State-wise funds are not allocated/released under the Scheme, rather they are released to the Implementing Agencies funds released to Implementing Agencies during the last three year and current year is given as under:-
