(a) the details of the bilateral meeting held with the Minister of Agriculture,
Brazil;
(b) whether this meeting builds on the previous MoUs already signed by the two
countries, if so, the details thereof; and
(c) the status of the previous MoUs signed between India and Brazil as well as between Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) and its Brazilian equivalent, EMBRAPA?

(a) & (b): A bilateral meeting of the Agriculture Ministers of India and Brazil was held on 14th November, 2015 in New Delhi. Discussion were held on a number of issues such as agricultural research, animal husbandry and agricultural trade promotion etc. These issues are inter – alia covered in the MoU signed between the two countries in 2008.
(c): As regards MoU signed in 2008, Joint Working Groups have been constituted by both the countries. In pursuance to the signed MoU between ICAR and EMBRAPA in 2005, three Indian scientists have been deputed for study visits to Brazil.
