Question : Old Age Pension

(a) whether there is a provision of old age pension across the country including the National Capital Region, Delhi and if so, the details thereof;

(b) whether such schemes have been kept on hold in Delhi;

(c) if so, the details thereof; and

(d) the time by which the said schemes are proposed to be started?

(a) to(d): Government implements pension schemes such as Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme (IGNOAPS), Indira Gandhi National Disability Pension Scheme (IGNDPS) and Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme (IGNWPS) under the National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP) for persons belonging to Below Poverty Line (BPL) households. These Schemes are implemented in all States/UTs in both rural and urban areas including National Capital Region, Delhi. Under the above schemes, the targeted beneficiaries are provided with monthly assistance ranging between Rs.200-500 depending on age of the beneficiary and category of the pension. These schemes have not been kept on hold in Delhi and are regularly implemented across the country including National Capital Region, Delhi. During 2019-20, an amount of Rs. 4346.91 lakh has been released to Delhi under these schemes.
