Question : C-DOT PROJECT

(a) whether Andhra Pradesh had allocated about 30.00 acres of land to telecom department for establishing Research Units of C-DoT in 1992;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether his Ministry has decided to utilize this land for training centre instead of research centre;

(d) if so, the reasons therefore;

(e) whether Andhra Pradesh Government has requested to Union Government to either establish research center or refund the land to Andhra Pradesh for some other purposes like Computer Courses; and

(f) if so, the decision taken or being taken by the Union Government to establish research center of C-DoT on this land?

(a) Yes, Sir.

(b) TRC society had purchased 30 Acres of land at Gachilowli, Hyderabad from Andhra Pradesh government by paying an amount of Rs. 25 lakhs on 31st March, 1989. The land got transferred to C-DOT in 1992.

(c) No, Sir.

(d) Does not arise in view of (c) above.

(e) Yes, Sir.

(f) No decision has been taken by the Government to establish Research Centre of C-DOT on this land.
