(a) whether there has been huge demand from citizens of Jammu division to launch a full fledged ‘Satellite Duggar Channel’ to promote and develop Dogri language;
(b) if so, the details thereof and the time by which this channel is likely to be started; and
(c) if not, the reasons therefor?

(a) to (c) Prasar Bharati has informed that the Jammu Media Joint Action Committee had given a Memorandum to Doordarshan Kendra (DDK), Jammu wherein demand for setting up of 24x7 satellite Duggar Channel was made.
The proposal to convert DDK, Jammu to satellite mode as a 24x7 hours channel to broadcast primarily in the local languages of Dogri, Gogri etc. was considered in Prasar Bharati but the upgraded channel has not been rolled out as of now.
