(a) whether the Government propose to include Reiki, acupuncture and other methods of therapy in the list of indigenous system of medicine;
(b) if so, the details thereof;
(c) if not, the reasons therefor;
(d) whether the Government are aware that a large number of persons are practicing these systems of medicine in the country; and
(e) if so, the manner in which the success rate in curing the diseases by these systems is assessed?

(a) to (e) A Standing Committee of experts constituted by the Governments examined various streams of alternative medicines including Reiki, acupuncture etc. In its recommendations made to the Government, the Committee did not recommend recognition to any stream of Alternative Medicine except traditional systems of medicines viz. Ayurveda, Siddha, Unani, Yoga/Naturopathy and Homeopathy.
