(a) whether the Government has taken/proposed any measures of periodical updation of knowledge of doctors and other medical professionals by educating them about new drugs and medical innov ations;

(b) if so, the details thereof; and

(c) the manner in which the above exercise is being carried out in the country?

(a) to (c) Medical Council of India’s (MCI) Indian Medical Council (Professional conduct, Etiquette and Ethics) Regulations, 2002, notified with the approval of the Central Government, prescribes that a Physician should participate in professional meetings as part of Continuing Medical Education programmes, for at least 30 hours every five years, organized by reputed prof essional academic bodies or any other authorized organizations. The compliance of this require ment shall be informed regularly to Medical Council of India or the State Medical Councils.
