(a) the number of surveys which were proposed for doubling railway lines in Gujarat during the last five years i.e. 2011-12 to 2016-17;
(b) the number of surveys for doubling of railway lines that were started and completed;
(c) the time by which the surveys of remaining projects will be started and completed; and
(d) the number of railway lines the construction of which has been started?

(a) to (d): During the last five years i.e. from 2011-12 to 2016-17, 08 number surveys for doubling of railway lines falling fully/partly in the State of Gujarat have been sanctioned. Out of these, 4 surveys have been completed and remaining 4 surveys are in different stages of progress. Out of completed surveys, 2 projects have been taken up, i.e. Vatva-Ahmedabad-Sabarmati 4th line (13.3 km.) and Surendranagar-Rajkot doubling (116.17 km.) and 1 project i.e. Anand- Godhara doubling has been included in the Budget 2017-18 subject to obtaining requisite approvals from the Government.
