(a) and (b): The Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying had implemented a Centrally Sponsored Scheme (CSS): Blue Revolution: Integrated Development and Management of Fisheries for a period of five years from 2015-16 to 2019-20 and this scheme ended on 31st March, 2020. Under the said CSS, central financial assistance of Rs.2577.49 crore was released to various State Governments/Union Territories and other implementing agencies for development of fisheries and aquaculture and out of the funds released, a sum of Rs.2294.22 crore has been utilized by the State Governments, Union Territories and other implementing agencies. The central funds released under aforementioned CSS includes an amount of Rs.49.88 crore released to the Government of Madhya Pradesh and State Government reported its full utilization.
The Department of Fisheries, Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying is now implementing an another flagship scheme of Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) with highest ever investment of Rs. 20050 crore with effect from the financial year 2020-21 in all the States/UTs including in Madhya Pradesh. The Department of Fisheries, Government of India during the financial years 2020-21 and 2021-22 has accorded approval to the fisheries development proposals of Government of Madhya Pradesh at a total cost of Rs. 323.73 crore and released central funds of Rs.72.59 crore to the Government of Madhya Pradesh for development of fisheries in the State through establishment of fish seed hatchery, creation of infrastructure for fish culture such as fish ponds, Bio-floc, Re-circulatory Aquaculture System, installation of cages in reservoir, establishment of fish marketing infrastructure and fish feed mills.
