Question : FOUR LANE NHS IN NE REGION



(a) the total number in km. of four lane National Highways under the East-West Corridor Programme completed in the North Eastern Region till date, State-wise;

(b) whether the progress of the work is very slow and is running behind the shedule;

(c) if so, the total length in km. completed and yet to be completed, State-wise; and

(d) the total amount sanctioned and utilised for the purpose during the current financial year?

(a) to (c) A length of 670 km of East-West Corridor (E-W Corridor) passes through Assam only in the North Eastern Region. 245 km of four laning works have been completed and remaining 425 km of four laning works are in progress.

(d) Total sanction cost of the projects of E-W Corridor in Assam is Rs. 5218 crore, on which expenditure till date is Rs. 2755.56 crore. Expenditure in the current year is Rs. 486.63 crore.
