Question : Training to CRPF and BSF

(a) whether the Government has issued orders for training of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Border Security Force (BSF) personnel in the local language for a better connect with locals and helping to build an information network;

(b) if so, the details thereof;

(c) whether the Government has directed the Telecom Department and BSNL to fast track the installation of mobile towers in Sukma district for better connectivity; and

(d) if so, the steps taken by such departments in this regard?

(a) & (b): Yes Madam, initiatives are taken by Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Border Security Force (BSF) personnel to learn local languages, which are of common parlance in the area of responsibilities/ deployment so that they can communicate with the locals and can establish a better connect with them.

(c): Yes Madam, the Government has directed BSNL to expedite the mobile tower works in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh. The project of mobile towers in Left Wing Extremism (LWE) affected areas, including Sukma district, is closely monitored in coordination with Department of Telecommunication and BSNL.

(d): Under Universal Service Obligation Fund (USOF), out of total 16 GSM mobile tower sites, 08 have been commissioned. Presently, 14 numbers of mobile towers are functioning in the district.
