(a): The number of Dengue cases reported upto 19th November, 2004 in Government Hospitals in different
States is at Annexure `A`.
(b) & (c): A team of experts comprising epidemiologists, microbiologists, entomologists and physicians is
consulted and deputed to the States for investigation of reported outbreaks of vector borne diseases including dengue.
The expenditure on visits of the team is met by the respective institution and no separate fund is allocated for
this purpose.
(d) & (e): There is no specific anti-viral drug for treatment of dengue and cases are managed symptomatically.
Efforts have been directed to provide technical support and strengthen capacity of States through training of medical
and para-medical functionaries.
