Question : International flights

(a) the total number of international flights which landed at various airports across the country since January, 2020 to till date;

(b) the total number of passengers travelled from various countries who arrived in India; and

(c) the total number of passengers who were subjected to test/examined for COVID-19 and outcome of the test result and further action taken by the Union Government?

(a) As per information provided by Airports Authority of India, the total number of international flights which landed at various airports across the country since January, 2020 till August 2020 is 67,358.;

(b) As per information provided by Airports Authority of India, about 80 lakh passengers had traveled from various countries and arrived in India since January, 2020 to till August 2020.;

(c) India started screening of passengers from China w.e.f 17.01.2020 at Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata airports. Universal screening was extended to all international airports with international flight operations on 05.03.2020. Post commencement of the Vande Bharat Mission, all international incoming passengers are being screened. As per information provided by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, from 17th January 2020 upto 23rd March 2020, 76,221 passengers were referred to State Health Authorities for isolation. After the start of Vande Bharat Mission, 1292 passengers have been referred for isolation from 7th May 2020 to 18th September 2020. Further as per MoHFW guidelines dated 24.05.2020 as amended from time to time, quarantine measures are in place for all inbound international passengers.
