Question : KILLING OF CAPF PERSONNEL



(a) the total number of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) personnel killed while on duty during each of the last three years;

(b) whether the Government has paid compensation to the family members of such personnel;

(c) if so, the details thereof and if not, the reasons therefor; and

(d) the total number of such claims which are pending with the Government and the time by which all the pending claims are likely to be settled?

(a): The number of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) and Assam Rifles (AR) personnel killed while on duty during each of the last three years is as under;

(b) to (d): As per Government Policy, ex-gratia lump sum compensation of Rupees 15 lakh has been paid to the Next of Kins of 174 CAPFs personnel killed while on duty. 03 cases (CRPF-01 & BSF-02) of ex-gratia lump sum compensation are pending with the respective CAPFs due to non receipt of required documents from the “Next of Kin” i.e. Succession Certificate from the Court and other required documents. The cases are being monitored by the CAPFs regularly for early settlement.
