(a) whether the Government has completed expansion works, including extension and strengthening of existing runway, taxi way and apron along with isolated bay, etc. at Kadapa airport by March, 2021 and if so, the details thereof;
(b) if not, the reasons for the delay and the funds utilized till date; and
(c) the time by which the said works will be completed?

(a) to (c) The works of strengthening of existing Runway of 1719 x 30 m, extension of Runway by 2500 x 45 m, Aprons, construction of Link Taxi and Isolation bay have been completed at Kadapa Airport. The work of Runway End Safety Area (RESA) at airport is in progress for which the projected date of completion is March,2022. Unprecedented rains, cyclones, effect of Covid-19 first and second wave, non-availability of sufficient number of skilled workers during pandemic period are the main reasons for delay in completion of works. Till date, funds amounting to Rs. 58.89 crore have been utilized for expansion works at Kadapa Airport.
