Question : DPA in Foreign Countries

Will the Minister of EXTERNAL AFFAIRS be pleased to state:

(a) the details of projects undertaken by the Development Partnership Administration in foreign countries in the past three years;

(b) the status of the development projects and the funds allocated to each project;

(c) the efficiency of fund utilisation by the department;

(d) the priority areas for this development; and

(e) the details of percent of development aid given to other countries?

(a) to (c) & (e) The list of the projects (ongoing and completed) undertaken by Development Partnership Administration (DPA) in foreign countries for the past 3 years along with the expenditure incurred on each project is given in the attached statement (Annexure). The funds made available for these projects have been utilised to the extent possible, keeping in mind local conditions in foreign countries.

(d) The areas of development partnership are driven by the priorities of the partner country. The main areas of development partnership undertaken with partner countries have been in the sectors of infrastructure, connectivity, power, healthcare, agriculture, Information Technology and capacity building.
