Answer given by the minister

MINISTER OF OCEAN DEVELOPMENT ( DR. MURLI MANOHAR JOSHI )

(a), (b) and (c) One of the changes expected due to variations in climatic conditions related to the ocean is the changes in sea levels. The Department of Ocean Development is monitoring the changes in sea level by establishing a network of tide gauges along the Indian coast and islands, to continuously measure the sea levels. In view of the uncertainties associated with sea level rise predictions, most of the work undertaken at present is mainly of research nature.
