Question : Rotatory Headship in AIIMS

Will the Minister of HEALTH AND FAMILY WELFARE be pleased to state:

(a) whether the Government has constituted various committees to suggest on the matter of Rotatory headship in the various departments at All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi;

(b) if so, the names and composition of the committees constituted till date along with their recommendations in this regard; (c) whether any committee has been constituted with Dr. M. K. Bhan as Chairman to facilitate the implementation of rotation of headship at AIIMS, New Delhi, and if so, the details thereof;

(d) whether the said committee has submitted its report, and if so, the details of the major recommendations of the said committee; and

(e) the time by which the Government proposes to implement this long awaited administrative reform at AIIMS?

Answer given by the minister

(a) & (b): The details of Committees that have been set up on the matter of Rotatory Headship at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi are as under:

(c) & (d): A three member Committee under the Chairmanship of Dr. M. K. Bhan was constituted on 15/06/2012 to facilitate implementation of rotation of headship. The other members of the Committee were Dr. R.A. Badwe and Dr. Abdul Hamid Zargar. The Committee did not submit a report.
(e): No decision has been taken in this regard.
