(a) whether the Government proposes to fix any target for investment in the field of renewable energy sector in the next five years;
(b) if so, the total amount of funds targetted to be invested in it; and
(c) the total quantum of power in megawatts likely to be generated by fixing such target?

(a)&(b): The Hon’ble Finance Minister in his budget speech for 2015-16 has proposed to set up 175 GW from renewable energy sources by 2022. Achieving the targets will depend on availability of finance, demand from States for buying renewable power and timely grid up-gradation to evacuate renewable energy. Investment required will be around US $ 200 billion which will be primarily from private sector.
(c): Power generated from solar and wind will be around 1.7 million units per year / MW.
