Question : Proposals from Madhya Pradesh

(a) whether the Government has received any proposal from Madhya Pradesh under the centrally sponsored scheme project Tiger and School Nursery Yojana to insulate the electric lines passing through the areas under the National Afforestation and Tiger Reserves;
(b) if so, the details and present status of the said proposals;
(c) whether a proposal related to the Patna reservoir of Satna Forest Division is pending with the Government for approval; and
(d) if so, the reasons therefor along with the time by which the said proposal is likely to be approved?

(a) No such proposal has been received from the State of Madhya Pradesh during current year for funding under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme of Project Tiger and School Nursery Yojana to insulate the electric lines passing through the areas under the National Afforestation and Tiger Reserves.

(b)Question does not arise.

(c) & (d) No Sir. However, a proposal for diversion of 27 ha. forest land for construction of Patna Reservoir Project in Satna Forest Division, Madhya Pradesh was granted in-principle (Stage-I) approval on 19.05.2003 by the Forest Conservation Division of this Ministry. The compliance of Stage-I was not received from the State and therefore vide guidelines 4.2 (II) of the Forest (Conservation) Act, 1980, the instant proposal is deemed to be closed.
