(a) & (b) Yes, Sir. The following training programmes for medical officers have
been launched by Government:
(i) Integrated Skill Development Training for Medical Officers (Primary Health Centres)
(ii) Specialized skill Training Programme for Medical Officers in:
ú Medical Termination of Pregnancy ú Minilap ú No Scalpel Vasectomy
(c) Details are given at Annexure-I.
(d) A Primary Health Centre provides health care, reproductive and child health
care and family welfare services. It is staffed by one Medical Officer, who is
not a specialist. For the provisioning of super-specialist services, teams of
specifically trained super-specialists, high-tech equipments and appropriate
infrastructural facilities are required. As such PHCs are not considered
suitable for the provisioning of super specialist services.

(f) Does not arise.
(g) The expenditure in Primary Health Centres is met from State Sector Budgets
and funds for Basic Minimum Services Programme. A statement of allocation under
Health/BMS during last three years is at Annexure-II.
