Question : FILLING UP OF VACANCIES



(a) whether a number of posts are still vacant in the Public Sector Enterprises, since long;

(b) if so, the details thereof alongwith the reasons therefor;

(c) the action taken by Public Enterprises Selection Board to fill up these vacancies expeditiously; and

(d) the time by which these vacancies are likely to be filled up?

THE MINISTER OF STATE OF THE MINISTRY OF SMALL SCALE INDUSTRIES, AGRO AND RURAL INDUSTRIES, MINISTER OF STATE IN THE DEPARTMENT OF PERSONNEL AND TRAINING, DEPARTMENT OF PENSIONS AND PENSIONERS WELFARE OF THE MINISTRY OF PERSONNEL, PUBLIC GRIEVANCES AND PENSIONS AND MINISTER OF STATE IN THE DEPARTMENTS OF ATOMIC ENERGY AND SPACE. (a)&(b): Yes, Sir. The number of vacant Board level posts in various Public Sector Enterprises as on 30.6.2001 is 92. The reasons for delay in filling these posts are mainly due to non-receipt of vigilance clearance or the recommended candidates not joining the posts or the vacancy being unforeseen.

(c)&(d): The PESB has already taken necessary action to fill these posts in accordance with the guidelines laid down by the Government in the matter.
