Question : IRREGULARITIES IN CEMENT CORPORATION OF INDIA



(a) whether Central Vigilance Commission have advised to his ministry for disciplinary action against those officers of Cement Corporation of India Limited who are involved in large irregularities for procurement of coal from private parties;

(b) if so, the details thereof and the steps taken/being taken/proposed to be taken by the Government in this regard;

(c) whether an audit of corporate material management department of CCI was ordered but the same was abandoned abruptly and whimsically; and

(d) if so, the details thereof and the reasons therefor?

(a) & (b) Yes, Sir. Central Vigilance Commission has advised initiation of disciplinary proceedings against the concerned officials. The Government is taking necessary action in the matter.

(c) & (d) The audit of the Material Management Deptt. of the Corporate Office was not abandoned but has been done by an independent firm of Chartered Accountants.
