Question : Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav

(a) the details of various initiatives taken by the Ministry and its affiliated organizations to celebrate the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ till 28th February, 2022;

(b) whether the said Ministry and its affiliated organizations have taken any initiative to celebrate ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ in Gujarat and if so, the details thereof and if not, the reason therefor; and

(c) the future initiatives planned by the Ministry for the remaining period of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ and the details thereof?

(a) Various events and activities have been organized by the Ministry and its affiliated organizations to celebrate ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ with high jan bhagidari. There are five themes that guide the events and activities planned as part of ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’. These are 1) Freedom Struggle: Focus on milestones of history, unsung heroes etc. 2) Ideas75: Celebrating ideas and ideas that have shaped India 3) Achivements@75: Showcasing evolution and progress across different sectors 4) Resolve@75: Reinforcing commitments to specific goals and targets. 5) Actions@75: Highlighting steps being taken to implement policies and actualize commitments. During the celebrations special focus has been given to commemorate unsung heroes of freedom struggle, setting up projects/programmes on `Mera Gaon Meri Dharohar'', ‘Har Ghar Jhanda’, ‘International Yoga Day’, ‘Digital District Repository’, ‘Swatantra Swar’ etc.

(b) Yes.
The celebration on ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ was inaugurated on 12th March 2021 with Hon’ble Prime Minister flagging off Freedom March from Sabarmati Ashram to Dandi. ‘Udan’ – Kite Festival and ‘Umang’ Rangoli making competitions on Makar Sankranti, Atmanirbhar Gram Yatra, Tribal Freedom Fighters Memorial Function, Celebration of International Day for Disabled Persons, Mother Language Day etc are few of the many events celebrated by Ministry/other organisations in Gujarat with high public participation.

(c) The Nodal Ministry i.e. Ministry of Culture in collaborations with other Ministries, State Governments and UT Administrations prepare a number of programmes under Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations for monthly/by monthly period and then taken to National Implementation Committee [NIC] headed by Hon’ble Home Minister for approval. After approval of NIC, the events be curated in collaboration with concerned Ministries, States, UTs and other organizations with full fervor and maximum public outreach.
