MINISTER OF MINORITY AFFAIRS

(a) to (c): All Schemes of the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports and the Sports Authority of India aiming at broad-basing of sports and promotion of excellence in sports are equally applicable to all sections of the society including those from minorities.
Besides, Ministry of Minority Affairs implements the scheme Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram (PMJVK) in identified Minority Concentration Areas (MCAs) of the country with the objective of developing socio-economic assets and basic amenities for improving quality of life of the people living in these areas. The Coverage of the scheme has extended in 2018-19 to 1300 MCAs in 308 districts of the country which includes 870 Minority Concentration Blocks, 321 Minority Concentration Towers and 109 Minority Concentration District Hqrs. The priority sectors under PMJVK are education, health, skill development and women centric projects. Further, since sports is an important component in Education and Health, sports facilities including Sports Stadiums, Football Grounds, Basketball Courts, Volleyball Courts etc have been sanctioned under PMJVK scheme.
Till date, 14 projects for creation of sports facilities at total cost of Rs. 22196.87 lakh have been sanctioned under the scheme. The details are available at http://minorityaffairs.gov.in/empowered-committee-minutes.
