Question : Community Water Purification Plants

(a) whether the Government is making any efforts for commissioning of community water purification plants;
(b) if so, the details thereof, State/UTs-wise;
(c) the details of the amount of funds allocated if any and spent so far in this regard, State/UTs-wise;
(d) the extent of success achieved in this regard so far; and
(e) the response of the Government thereto?

(a) & (b): Yes.

As per the data entered by States in Integrated Management Information System (IMIS) of this Ministry, the number of Community Water Purification Plants (CWPPs) installed in the country is given at Annexure-A.

(c) to (e):

The expenditure incurred on commissioning of CWPPs is given at Annexure –B.

As per the data entered by States in Integrated Management Information System (IMIS) of this Ministry, as on 10.12.2018, 16,658 habitations with a total population of 2,38,54,483 have been benefitted through commissioning of 22,768 Community Water Purifications Plants.
