Will the Minister of HOUSING AND URBAN AFFAIRS be pleased to state:
(a) whether the Government is aware of the fact that residential flats/premises and private flats constructed for EWS category are given on rent to non-Government employees; and
(b) if so, the details thereof and if not, the details of last survey conducted in this regard?

(a) & (b): ‘Land’ and ‘Colonization’ are State subjects. Under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban), the Central Government
assists State/UT/City Governments in facilitating housing for the urban poor. No such matter regarding renting out of the houses constructed under the Mission to non-Government employees has been undertaken by the Ministry. No such matter has also been brought to the notice of the Ministry by the State/UT Governments.
