Question : SHARE OF RENEWABLE ENERGY



(a) whether the Central Electricity Regulatory Commission has given a statutory advice to the State Governments for increasing the share of renewable energy in the total energy mix of the country;

(b) if so, the details thereof, and

(c) the steps taken by the Government in this regard?

(a): No, Madam. Electricity is a concurrent subject and as per the provisions of the Electricity Act 2003, the fixation of Renewable Purchase Obligation (RPO) at the State level falls under the purview of the State Governments.

(b) & (c): Does not arise in view of the above position.
