Question : AMRUT Scheme

(a) whether urban development of small cities is being undertaken by the Government under Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) scheme;

(b) if so, the number of cities benefited from this scheme so far, State/UT-wise;

(c) the funds allocated/released along with its utilization so far thereunder, State/ UT-wise;

(d) whether the Government proposes to start the next phase of the said scheme; and

(e) if so, the details of the cities selected for coverage under the said scheme and if not, the reasons therefor?

(a). Government of India launched Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) in 500 selected Mission cities on 25th June, 2015. All cities/ towns with a population of one lakh or more as per Census 2011, all other capital cities of States/Union Territories (UTs), all heritage cities/towns under Heritage City Development and Augmentation Yojana (HRIDAY), 13 cities/towns on the stem of the main rivers with the population between 75,000 to 1,00,000 and 10 cities/ towns from hill states, islands and tourist destinations (not more than one from each State)have been included under the Mission.

(b). The State/UT-wise number of cities selected under the Mission is placed as Annexure-I.

(c). The State/UT-wise status of funds allocated/released and Utilization Certificates (UCs) received so far under the Mission is placed as Annexure-II.

(d) & (e). No, Sir. There is no such proposal under consideration.
