Question : Online Marketing

(a) the details of the proposals made by the Government for starting online trading/marketing for agricultural development and the details of the access to the State Governments thereunder;

(b) whether it is a pilot project or the Government proposes to implement it in the entire country, if so, the details thereof; and

(c) whether any subsidy on training has been provided by the Government to the farmers for the purchase of smart phones under the scheme, if so, the details thereof?

(a) & (b): The Government has implemented National Agriculture Market popularly known as e-NAM scheme for transparent price discovery for the farmers for their produce through competitive online bidding system. Under the scheme, an electronic trading portal with pan India trading facility has been deployed in 470 regulated wholesale markets in 14 States in the country. The target is to integrate 585 wholesale regulated markets with e-NAM by March, 2018. e¬-NAM is being implemented in wholesale regulated markets by respective State Governments. The Central Government is providing software and assistance for related hardware including quality assaying equipments/infrastructure to States for installation of e-NAM platform by respective States. State-wise details of the mandis integrated with e¬-NAM are annexed.
(c): Under the scheme, training is provided to market officials, farmers, traders, commission agents and others as may be necessary for successful operation of e-NAM. However, no subsidy is provided for the purchase of smart phones under the scheme.
