(a) whether the country’s security challenges have increased in the Indian Ocean;
(b) if so, the details thereof; and
(c) the steps being taken by the Government to extend the maritime security framework between India and various island States to address these issues in the Indian ocean?

(a) to (c): Government regularly reviews the threat perception from time to time and takes appropriate measures to safeguard the sovereignty, territorial integrity and security of the country. These include Exclusive Economic Zone surveillance, coordinated patrols and maritime exercises with foreign Navies including those of island countries in the Indian Ocean.
