Question : FUND FOR DELEGATION VISITS



(a) whether Indian business delegation have visited foreign countries for exploring new areas /market of technology infusion /upgradation etc. in the field of Small Scale Industries sector;

(b) if so, the details thereof and the fund utilized for the purpose during each of the last three years and the current year; and

(c) the extent to which benefits accrued /likely to accrue by such visits?

(a)to(c): Yes, Madam. Financial assistance is provided on reimbursement basis under the International Cooperation (IC) Scheme of this Ministry to registered Societies, Industry /Enterprise Associations, State /Central Government Organisations, Trusts and Organisations associated with the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) for deputation of MSME business delegations to other countries for exploring new areas of technology infusion/ upgradation, facilitating joint ventures, improving market of MSMEs products, foreign collaborations, etc. Such business delegations are quite beneficial for MSMEs as it helps them in exploration of export markets for Indian MSMEs, increasing access to international business networks, technology upgradation/modernization, improved competitiveness, awareness of better manufacturing practices etc.Year-wise details of funds utilized by the Government under IC Scheme during the last three years and current year (upto 31.10.2011) are as under:
