(a): The data pertaining to production, consumption and
export of processed and packed food is not maintained by the
Ministry of Food Processing industries. The quantity of
products exported and its value for 2008-09, 2009-10 and
upto October month of 2010-11 given below:-

(b): The Government is providing financial assistance in the
form of grant-in-aid to the implementing agencies for
infrastructure development of food processing industries in
the country. Financial assistance upto 50% of project cost
excluding land component in general areas and 75% in
difficult areas (J&K, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, North
East including Sikkim and ITDP notified areas of the
States), subject to a maximum of Rs. 50.00 crores is
provided for setting up of Mega Food Parks. For cold, Value
Addition and Preservation infrastructure, financial
assistance in the form of grant-in-aid @ 50% of the total
cost of plant and machinery and technical civil works in
general areas and 75% in difficult areas, subject to a
maximum of Rs. 10.00 crores, is provided. For Establishing/
Modernization of Abattoirs in the country, Ministry extends
financial assistance with the involvement of local bodies
(c) & (d): Under the scheme for Technology Upgradation/
Modernization/ Establishment of Food Processing Industries,
MFPI extends financial assistance to food processing units
in the form of grant-in-aid @ 25% of the cost of plant and
machinery and technical civil works subject to a maximum of
Rs. 50.00 lakhs in general areas, or @ 33.33% subject to
maximum of Rs. 75.00 lakhs in difficult areas such as Jammu
& Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim and North-
Eastern States, A&N Islands, Lakshadweep and ITDP areas.
