(a) the reasons for taking so many years for renewal of the magazines and newspapers;
(b) whether the Government proposes to set a time limit for the renewal work;
(c) the reasons for delaying the renewal of the Banavasi Anchal Patrika despite the continued efforts made in this regard; and
(d) the detail of the guidelines issued so that no problem is faced for renewal in future?

(a) & (b): The office of Registrar of Newspapers for India (RNI) receives a large number of applications for title verification, registration, revised registration etc. of newspapers. While the endeavour of RNI is to expeditiously decide on the applications, delay on part of publishers in replying to the deficiency letters issued by RNI at times leads to delay in the process. Publishers are issued revised registration certificate at the earliest once complete and correct documents are received.
(c) As per records of RNI, revised registration certificate for ‘VANWASI ANCHAL SE’ was issued on 24.12.2021.
